TapSafe Vehicle provides physical NFC tags and an online vehicle information platform. A compatible NFC-enabled phone can read a programmed TapSafe tag and open the relevant TapSafe web experience, which may include tag activation, account login, vehicle linking or a public Vehicle Passport.
TapSafe may allow users to store or view vehicle details, service records, maintenance information, documents, MOT information, NFC Tag IDs and selected public vehicle information.
TapSafe may display vehicle or MOT information obtained from official or third-party data services, including DVSA services where available. Such information may be delayed, incomplete, unavailable or subject to errors outside TapSafe's control.
TapSafe is not a replacement for official DVLA, DVSA, insurance, manufacturer, garage, finance or other authoritative records. Users should independently verify information where accuracy is important.
You are responsible for providing accurate account information, keeping your password secure and for activity carried out through your account.
You should contact us promptly if you believe your account, password or NFC tag has been compromised. You must not allow another person to use your account in a way that breaches these terms or the law.
You are responsible for the accuracy and lawfulness of information you add to TapSafe. You must not upload or publish information that you do not have the right to store or share.
Information specifically designated for a public Vehicle Passport may be accessible to anyone who scans or otherwise obtains the relevant public TapSafe link. You are responsible for deciding which optional information you make public where TapSafe provides that choice.
Each TapSafe NFC tag may be assigned a unique TapSafe Tag ID and permanent web address. A tag must be activated and linked to a valid TapSafe account and vehicle before its full customer functionality is available.
You must not deliberately alter, duplicate, misuse or interfere with a TapSafe tag or Tag ID in a way intended to impersonate another customer, vehicle or account.
NFC operation depends on device compatibility, device settings, scanning position and the physical condition of the tag. We cannot guarantee compatibility with every phone, device, case, surface or environment.
The current TapSafe Vehicle NFC Tag launch price is shown on the Shop page before checkout. At the time these terms were last updated, the displayed launch price was £14.99. The price shown to you at checkout is the price that applies to that order, subject to correction of obvious pricing errors.
TapSafe currently offers free UK standard delivery and accepts delivery orders to UK addresses only.
Our target is to dispatch in-stock orders within 1–2 working days, with standard UK delivery normally taking approximately 2–4 working days after dispatch. These are estimates rather than guaranteed delivery dates unless we expressly agree otherwise.
Full delivery information is available on our Delivery Information page.
Payments are processed through Stripe. TapSafe Vehicle does not intend to store your full payment-card details on its own website systems. Stripe's own terms and privacy practices may also apply to payment processing.
An order is not treated as paid until the payment provider confirms successful payment.
After successful payment, TapSafe may allocate a Tag ID, prepare/program the physical NFC tag, pack the order and arrange dispatch.
We may cancel or refund an order where we cannot reasonably fulfil it, including because of an obvious pricing error, suspected fraud, stock problems, delivery restrictions or another legitimate operational or legal reason. If we cancel a paid order, we will provide the appropriate refund.
You are responsible for providing a complete and accurate delivery address. If you notice an error, contact us as soon as possible. Once an order has been dispatched, we may not be able to change the address.
For delivery delays, missing parcels and related matters, see our Delivery Information.
For qualifying online consumer purchases, you normally have a legal right to cancel within 14 days after receiving the goods, subject to statutory exceptions.
Our detailed cancellation, return and refund arrangements are set out in our Returns, Cancellations & Refunds page.
Activating or linking a standard TapSafe tag does not automatically remove any statutory cancellation or faulty-goods rights you may have.
If a TapSafe tag is faulty, damaged on arrival, not as described or otherwise fails to conform to the contract, contact support@tapsafevehicle.co.uk. Your statutory rights relating to faulty goods are not excluded or restricted by these terms.
TapSafe relies on internet access, hosting providers, databases, authentication services, external APIs and other third-party infrastructure.
We aim to provide a reliable service but cannot promise uninterrupted or error-free availability. Maintenance, outages, security incidents, third-party failures or circumstances outside our reasonable control may temporarily affect access.
You must not:
If a TapSafe tag is lost or stolen, you should disable the tag through available account controls where possible and contact TapSafe support if assistance is required. A tag lost, stolen or accidentally damaged after successful delivery is not normally treated as a manufacturing fault.
The TapSafe Vehicle name, branding, software, website design and original content are owned by or licensed to TapSafe Vehicle unless stated otherwise. Purchasing a physical tag does not transfer ownership of TapSafe software, branding or intellectual property.
Our handling of personal information is described in our Privacy Policy.
TapSafe may process information needed to operate accounts, fulfil orders, activate NFC tags, provide vehicle features, prevent abuse, provide support and maintain the service, subject to applicable data protection law.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including liability that cannot lawfully be excluded under UK consumer law.
Subject to those rights and mandatory legal protections, TapSafe is not responsible for losses caused solely by inaccurate information entered by a user, unsupported devices, loss of internet access, or third-party systems outside our reasonable control, except where the law provides otherwise.
We may update TapSafe features or these terms as the service develops. Changes will not remove statutory rights. Where appropriate, significant changes affecting existing customers will be communicated or highlighted.
These terms are governed by the applicable laws of the United Kingdom relevant to the customer and transaction. Consumers retain any mandatory rights relating to the part of the UK in which they live.
